Regular Season Round 38: Takamatsu FA - Hamamatsu P. 71-72

Seventh-ranked Takamatsu FA (14-20) used its home court advantage to challenge second ranked Hamamatsu Phoenix (22-12). The visitors from Mikawa managed to secure only one-point victory 72-71. However their fans expected much easier game. Takamatsu FA was ahead by 6 points after three quarters before a 23-16 charge of Hamamatsu Phoenix, which allowed them to win the game. American players dominated the game. Guard Jermaine Dixon (191-87, college: Pittsburgh) scored 30 points to lead the charge for the winners and forward Ray Nixon (203-84, college: Wisconsin) chipped in 12 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. Swingman Dexter Lyons (198-81, college: Cent.Florida, agency: I.D.S. Law) responded with 21 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals and power forward Paul Williams (208-83, college: St.Bonaventure, agency: I.D.S. Law) scored 11 points and 8 rebounds. Four Takamatsu FA players scored in double figures. Hamamatsu Phoenix maintains second position with 22-12 record having three points less than leader Akita NH. Takamatsu FA at the other side keeps the seventh place with 20 games lost. They share the position with Osaka Evessa. Hamamatsu Phoenix will play against Shimane Magic (#10) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Takamatsu FA will play against the league's leader Okinawa GK and hopes to get back on the winning track.
