Regular Season Round 30: Bishop's - UQAM 48-68

Rather expected game in Sherbrooke where bottom-ranked Gaiters (0-14) were crushed by third ranked Citadins (9-5) 68-48 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Citadins. Gaiters was better in fourth quarter 16-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Citadins dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Gaiters' 30. Citadins forced 27 Gaiters turnovers. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Citadins made 9 blocks. Center Camille Michaud (183) had a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and center Jessica Lubin chipped in 13 points, 7 rebounds and 5 blocks during the contest. Four Citadins players scored in double figures. Citadins' coach Albena Branzova used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was forward Jenae Grayer (178) with 14 points and forward Danielle Lumley (178) scored 7 points. Citadins moved-up to second place, which they share with Concordia. Loser Gaiters still closes the standings with 14 games lost. Citadins will face Laval (#4) in Quebec City in the next round. Gaiters will play on the road against Laval in Quebec City and hope to get finally their first victory.
