Very expected game when 6th ranked Kumamoto V. (5-29) was smashed by first ranked Toshiba Thunders (29-5) in Kanagawa 92-57 on Monday. The hosts trailed by 7 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 92-57. Toshiba Thunders outrebounded Kumamoto V. 45-31 including 34 on the defensive glass. American players dominated the game. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 30 points and 23 rebounds. Guard Cedric Bozeman (198-83, college: UCLA) contributed with 16 points and 5 assists for the winners. Forward DeVaughn Washington (202-89, college: Ohio, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) answered with 22 points and 9 rebounds and guard Thomas Baudinet (190-89, college: St.Anselm) added 15 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Kumamoto V.The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Toshiba Thunders have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain first place with 29-5 record. Kumamoto V. lost eighth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the sixth position with 29 games lost. Toshiba Thunders will face Mitsubishi Dolphins (#3) in Nagoya in the next round, which may be the game of the day.
