LBF top team - Recife (10-1) managed to deliver another win on Monday. This time they beat fifth ranked Ourinhos (5-6) 60-49. The best player for the winners was the former international center Erika De Souza (197-82, agency: Josep and Nicolas) who scored 18 points. Guard Natalia Cavalcanti (173-82) chipped in 17 points. At the other side the best for losing team was international guard Taina Paixao (176-91) who recorded 13 points and 5 steals and international center Fernanda Bibiano (193-85) added 7 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Recife maintains first place with 10-1 record. Loser Ourinhos keeps the fifth position with six games lost. Recife will meet Sao Jose (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Ourinhos will play against Santo Andre and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
