Important game to mention about took place in Vitebsk. Sixth ranked Rubon (8-18) saved a 3-point victory at home edging 4th placed Tsmoki-Minsk II (9-15) 75-72 on Monday evening. It looked good early as Tsmoki-Minsk II took an 2-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Rubon had a 20-17 second period charge getting the lead and Tsmoki-Minsk II was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 72-75. Rubon brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. Point guard Ivan Aladko (192-95, agency: Mike Diesel) nailed 26 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side and Yahor Patupchik (191-94) accounted for 19 points. Power forward Siarhei Kazlou (200-95) came up with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 16 rebounds and guard Roman Rubinshteyn (195-96) added 15 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Tsmoki-Minsk II in the defeat. Rubon maintains sixth place with 8-18 record. Tsmoki-Minsk II lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with 15 games lost. Rubon will play against league's leader Grodno-93 on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Tsmoki-Minsk II will play against Sozh Gomel and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
