There was no surprise when 11th ranked Tuscany Pistoia (8-11) was defeated at home by second ranked Armani Milano (14-5) 88-79 on Monday. Tuscany Pistoia was trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 8-point lead after three quarters before a 29-12 charge of Armani Milano, which allowed them to win the game. It was a great evening for American point guard Curtis Jerrells (185-87, college: Baylor) who led his team to a victory scoring 15 points and 5 assists. The former international guard Daniel Hackett (199-87, college: USC, agency: Two Points) helped adding 16 points and 5 rebounds. Four Armani Milano players scored in double figures. Armani Milano's coach Luca Banchi used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American guard Brad Wanamaker (193-89, college: Pittsburgh) responded with 20 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import guard Kyle Gibson (196-87, college: Louisiana Tech) scored 21 points. Armani Milano have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Enel Brindisi. Newly promoted Tuscany Pistoia keeps the eleventh place with 11 games lost. They share the position with Cimberio VA and Granarolo BO. Armani Milano will meet at home Granarolo BO (#13) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Tuscany Pistoia will play against Vanoli Cremona and hope to secure a win.
