The game in Rishon Le-Zion was also quite interesting. Maccabi Ramat Hen (11-7) played at the court of Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion (6-12). Maccabi Ramat Hen defeated Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion 85-69 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Maccabi Ramat Hen. Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion managed to win fourth quarter 20-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Maccabi Ramat Hen looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American swingman Karima Christmas (182-89, college: Duke) had a double-double by scoring 20 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American-Armenian center Brittany Denson (188-87, college: S.Florida) chipped in 12 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Maccabi Ramat Hen's coach Ami Barda used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American point guard Alexis Gray-Lawson (173-87, college: California) responded with 16 points and 9 rebounds and her fellow American import forward Amanda Thompson (183-87, college: Oklahoma) scored 14 points and 9 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Maccabi Ramat Hen will meet at home Elitzur Ramla in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion will play against Ramat Hasharon (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
