The game in Hafnarfjordur was also worth to mention about. One of their biggest challengers Njardvik (11-7) played at the court of sixth ranked Haukar (10-8). Haukar defeated Njardvik 86-75. Njardvik was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Haukar dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Njardvik's 38. They outrebounded Njardvik 51-31 including a 33-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Haukar players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. Guard Emil Barja (192-91) notched a triple-double by scoring 13 points, 18 rebounds and 11 assists to lead the effort and American forward Terrence Watson (200-87, college: Ball St.) supported him with 20 points and 10 rebounds. Five Haukar players scored in double figures. Haukar's coach Ivar Asgrimsson allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Haukar will play against league's second-placed Keflavik on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Njardvik will play against Grindavik and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
