Very predictable result when fifth ranked ALM Evreux (18-12) smashed at home 15th ranked Nantes (11-19) 85-65 on Friday. The game without a history. ALM Evreux led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. American forward Samme Givens (198-89, college: Drexel) scored 19 points to lead the charge for the winners and Nigerian-Canadian Olu Ashaolu (200-88, college: Oregon, agency: Norton Sports Management) chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Four ALM Evreux players scored in double figures. ALM Evreux's coach Remy Valin used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was American center Todd O'Brien (213-89, college: UAB) with 18 points and his fellow American import Allen Durham (198-88, college: Grace Bible) scored 13 points. ALM Evreux moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Maurienne. Nantes lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the fourteenth position with 19 games lost. ALM Evreux will face league's second-placed SO Maritime Boulogne in Boulogne-sur-Mer in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Nantes will play at home against Le Portel (#6) and hope to win that game.
