An interesting game took place in Santiado Estero where higher ranked Sionista (11-10) was upset on the court of thirteenth ranked Quimsa (9-12) 84-72 on Friday. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Sionista. Sionista was plagued by 33 personal fouls down the stretch. British-American Darren Phillip (201-78, college: Fairfield) stepped up and scored 19 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and swingman Fernando Funes (193-83) chipped in 17 points. The best for the losing side was Enzo Ruiz (193-88) with 21 points and 6 rebounds and power forward Alejandro Zilli (200-82) scored 10 points. Sionista's coach Sebastian Svetliza let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Quimsa moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Obras and Quilmes MP. Loser Sionista dropped to the sixth position with ten games lost. Quimsa will face Estudian.Con. (#13) in Concordia in the next round.
