Eighth-ranked Prinemanye (5-19) gave a tough game to second ranked Svisloch (19-6) in Grodno on Friday. The visitors from Osipovichi managed to secure only three-point victory 72-69. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests trailed by 1 point after three quarters before their 19-15 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Forward Anton Korneenkov (198-90) stepped up and scored 24 points and 9 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) for the winners and forward Dmitri Shilovich (200-89) chipped in 14 points and 5 assists. At the losing side power forward Pavel Karasevich (201-89) responded with 19 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Aleh Makarau (184-96) scored 9 points and 9 rebounds. Svisloch maintains second place with 19-6 record having six points less than leader Grodno-93. Prinemanye lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom position with 19 games lost. Svisloch are looking forward to face Impuls BGUIR (#5) in Minsk in the next round. Prinemanye will play on the road against Borisfen in Mogilev and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
