Athinaikos forced 19 Anagenisi turnovers and outrebounded them 40-29 including 27 on the defensive glass. Latvian center Zenta Melnika (197-91) nailed a double-double by scoring 23 points and 21 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) for the winning side and the former international power forward Peli Papamichail (189-86, agency: Josep and Nicolas) accounted for 10 points and 8 rebounds. Serbian forward Dragana Gobeljic (185-88) came up with 23 points and 4 steals and the former international center Fedra Skiadopoulou (192-90) added 11 points and 11 rebounds respectively for Anagenisi in the defeat. Anagenisi's coach Giannis Kafantaris rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Athinaikos moved-up to fifth place. Anagenisi lost their fifth game in a row. Newly promoted team dropped to the sixth position with ten games lost. Athinaikos' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Athens to the arena Panathinaikos.
