Regular Season Round 20: GTK Gliwice - GKS Tychy 46-49

The most interesting game of round 20 was only three-point a home defeat of second-ranked GTK Gliwice (17-3) to first ranked GKS Tychy (18-2) 49-46 in the game for the first place. It was a key game for the top position in Group B. GTK Gliwice was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Strangely GTK Gliwice outrebounded GKS Tychy 38-26 including 27 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Mariusz Markowicz (202-86) who helped to win the game recording 14 points and power forward Tomasz Bzdyra (200-83) who added 8 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Artur Grygiel (187-88) responded with 18 points and 5 rebounds and forward Emil Podkowinski (194-88) scored 10 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. GKS Tychy maintains first position in Group B with 18-2 record. GTK Gliwice at the other side keeps the second place with three games lost. GKS Tychy are looking forward to face Sudety (#5) in Jelenia Gora in the next round. GTK Gliwice will play on the road against Mickiewicz in Katowice and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
