Everything went according to plan when fourth ranked Kalisz (14-6) beat at home 7th ranked GTK Gdynia (9-10) 90-79 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Kalisz. GTK Gdynia was better in third quarter 30-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding GTK Gdynia to just 6 points in second quarter. Kalisz made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Artur Mrowczynski (194-84) who helped to win the game recording 28 points and guard Lukasz Wojciechowski (184-88) who added 17 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Loser GTK Gdynia keeps the seventh place with ten games lost. Kalisz will face Suchy Las (#10) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. GTK Gdynia will play against Basket Pila and hope to win that game.
