Regular Season Round 20: Fuenlabrada - Sevilla 75-84
Date: February 22, 2014
There was no surprise when 14th ranked Baloncesto Fuenlabrada (7-13) lost to seventh ranked Cajasol (10-10) in Madrid 75-84 on Saturday. Baloncesto Fuenlabrada trailed by 14 points at halftime and as many as 16 after three quarters before a 24-17 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 75-84 at the end of the game. Cajasol dominated on the defensive end, holding Baloncesto Fuenlabrada to just 7 points in first quarter. The winners were led by Czech point guard Tomas Satoransky (201-91) who scored that evening 16 points and 5 assists and American forward Marcus Landry (201-85, college: Wisconsin) supported him with 16 points. Even 25 points and 5 steals by Dominican-American guard James Feldeine (193-88, college: Quinnipiac) did not help to save the game for Baloncesto Fuenlabrada. American forward Andy Panko (204-77, college: Lebanon Valley, agency: Beo Basket) added 20 points and 8 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Cajasol maintains seventh position with 10-10 record, which they share with Laboral Kutxa. Loser Baloncesto Fuenlabrada keeps the fourteenth place with 13 games lost. Cajasol will meet at home UCAM Murcia (#16) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Baloncesto Fuenlabrada will play against CAI Zaragoza and hope to secure a win.
