Regular Season Round 30: Poitiers - Boulogne 95-68

There was a change at the ProB leadership position after last games. Round 30 most important game was a defeat of league's leader SO Maritime Boulogne (21-9). They were crushed by ninth ranked Poitiers (16-14) 95-68 on Saturday night. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of SO Maritime Boulogne. The game was mostly controlled by Poitiers. SO Maritime Boulogne managed to win fourth quarter 24-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded SO Maritime Boulogne 38-27 including 26 on the defensive glass. The former international Karim Souchu (198-79, college: Furman) scored 29 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and center Moustapha Fall (218-92) chipped in 18 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was Mehdi Cheriet (204-87, college: San Diego St.) with 12 points and 5 rebounds and the former international forward Stephen Brun (202-80) scored 14 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Poitiers have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Fos Ouest. SO Maritime Boulogne at the other side still keeps top position with nine games lost. They were joined at the leadership position by Chalons-Reims who have the same record. SO Maritime Boulogne will play next round against ALM Evreux trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Poitiers will try to continue on its current victory against fourteenth ranked SPO Rouen on the road.
