Regular Season Round 34: Inter Bratislava - Handlova 83-61

Extraliga top team - Inter Bratislava (25-6) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed sixth ranked Handlova (13-17) 83-61. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Handlova. They outrebounded Handlova 43-28 including 16 on the offensive glass. Inter Bratislava looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Handlova's players. The former international power forward Martin Rancik (206-78, college: Iowa St.) fired a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. American guard Justin Graham (193-88, college: San Jose St.) chipped in 13 points and 9 rebounds. Four Inter Bratislava players scored in double figures. Inter Bratislava's coach Oleg Meleschenko felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Montenegrin guard Milos Djurisic (194-88) produced 12 points and 9 rebounds and Serbian guard Vladimir Velickovic (178-89) added 11 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Defending champion maintains first position with 25-6 record. Loser Handlova keeps the sixth place with 17 games lost. Inter Bratislava will meet bottom-ranked Nova Ves (#9) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Handlova will play against Rieker KN and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
