Regular Season Round 39: Sendai 89ers - Niigata Albirex 93-90

The most exciting game of round 39 in the BJ League took place in Sendai. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 5th ranked Niigata Albirex (22-12) to eighth ranked Sendai 89ers (15-18) 93-90 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Niigata Albirex. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Niigata Albirex won fourth quarter 26-22. The best for the losing side was center Patrick Sullivan (206-88, college: SE Louisiana, agency: Two Points) with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and guard Nile Murry (193-83, college: TCU) scored 17 points and 7 rebounds. Five Niigata Albirex players scored in double figures. Sendai 89ers maintains eighth place with 15-18 record. Niigata Albirex at the other side keeps the fifth position with 12 games lost. Sendai 89ers are again looking forward to face higher ranked Niigata Albirex (#5) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Niigata Albirex will have a break next round.
