No shocking result in a game when third ranked Pau Lacq Orthez (11-5) defeated at home 10th ranked Avenir (6-11) 73-62. The game was mostly controlled by Pau Lacq Orthez. Avenir was better in fourth quarter 22-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Pau Lacq Orthez forced 19 Avenir turnovers. Point guard Ingrid Bunel (174-87) nailed 16 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists for the winning side and American guard Lakevia Boykin (175-91, college: Wake Forest) accounted for 20 points. Forward Noemie Lemaire (187-88) came up with 20 points and Senegalese center Marie Rosche (191-87, college: Dayton) added 10 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Avenir in the defeat. Avenir's coach Alain Boureaud rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Pau Lacq Orthez maintains third place with 11-5 record having five points less than leader COB Calais. Avenir lost their fifth game in a row. Newly promoted team dropped to the twelfth position with 11 games lost. Pau Lacq Orthez's next round opponent will be Limoges (#4) on the road. Avenir will play against Charnay (#13) in Charnay-les-Macon and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
