Second Stage Round 4: Berezina - RGUOR 61-56

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Berezina-RCOR as it allowed them to take a leadership position after previous leader's (Gorizont) loss. Berezina-RCOR defeated 3rd ranked RGUOR in Borisovo 61-56. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 22-10. But RGUOR won third quarter 22-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Berezina-RCOR forced 20 RGUOR turnovers and had a 13-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. The winners were led by swingman Katsiaryna Pratasevich (178-94) who scored that evening 18 points and 8 rebounds and forward Yuliya Haponava (187-94) supported her with 17 points and 8 rebounds. Even 18 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists by point guard Anastasiya Sushchyk (160-97) did not help to save the game for RGUOR. Center Ekaterina Karchevskaya (183-98) added 11 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Berezina-RCOR have a solid four-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with BrGU. Newly promoted RGUOR still closes the standings with two games lost. RGUOR will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. Berezina-RCOR will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked RGUOR at Minsk.
