No shocking result in a game in Shizuoka where third ranked Chanson V-M (19-5) defeated 9th ranked Aishin Wings (6-18) 71-63 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 9 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 8 points. Chanson V-M made 18-of-20 free shots (90.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 25 Aishin Wings turnovers. Strangely Aishin Wings outrebounded Chanson V-M 40-24 including a 30-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Minaho Miyoshi (167-93) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and center Miyuki Kawamura (183-94) who added 12 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was the former international center Hiromi Suwa (183-85) with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds and guard Hitomi Takasaki (168-86) scored 14 points. Four Aishin Wings players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Chanson V-M have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 19-5 record having just three points less than leader JX Sunflowers, which they share with Toyota A. Aishin Wings lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with 18 games lost. Chanson V-M will again meet Aishin Wings (#9) in the next round where they are favorite. Aishin Wings will have a break next round.
