Regular Season Round 39: Toyama Grouses - Shinshu BW 86-70

The game between Top Four teams took place in Toyama. Second ranked host Toyama Grouses (26-9) defeated 4th placed Shinshu BW (22-10) 86-70. Toyama Grouses dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Shinshu BW's 34. It was an exceptional evening for Senegalese forward Djibril Thiam (208-86, college: Wyoming, agency: Regeneracom Sports) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. American forward Ira Brown (193-82, college: Gonzaga, agency: Norton Sports Management) accounted for 10 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side. Four Toyama Grouses players scored in double figures. American power forward Xavier Gibson (210-88, college: Florida St.) came up with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds and the other American import forward Jeffrey Parmer (203-85, college: Florida Atlantic) added 6 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Shinshu BW in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Toyama Grouses have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain second place with 26-9 record despite having the same number of points like the leader Akita NH. Shinshu BW at the other side keeps the fourth position with ten games lost. Toyama Grouses will again play against Shinshu BW (#4) in Nagano in the next round. Shinshu BW will have a break next round.
