Very important is a road loss of second ranked Kutno (15-6) against ninth ranked Stal Ostrow (10-11) on Sunday night. Visiting Kutno was defeated by Stal Ostrow in a tough game in Ostrow Wlkp. 79-86. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Kutno. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 29-16. But Kutno won third quarter 25-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Stal Ostrow shot 26 for 40 from the free-throw line, while Kutno only scored eight points from the stripe. Kutno was plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for point guard Tomasz Ochonko (184-86, agency: Promotex) who led his team to a victory with 22 points and 5 assists. Center Wojciech Zurawski (205-76) contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. Power forward Mateusz Bartosz (203-87) answered with 15 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and power forward Wojciech Glabas (207-90) added 15 points in the effort for Kutno. Four Stal Ostrow and five Kutno players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Stal Ostrow maintains ninth place with 10-11 record. Kutno at the other side dropped to the third position with six games lost. Stal Ostrow will play against league's leader SIDEn Torun on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Kutno will play against Znicz Basket and hopes to get back on the winning track.
