Very significant was Sagesse's (#3) 79-69 road victory against their biggest opponent Byblos. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Byblos. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Byblos were ahead by 9 points after three quarters before a 29-10 charge of Sagesse, which allowed them to win the game. They dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Byblos' 26 and made 19-of-22 charity shots (86.4 percent) during the game. It was an exceptional evening for American center Chris Daniels (212-84, college: Limoges) who led the winners and scored 21 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks. His fellow American import forward Charles Thomas (203-86, college: Arkansas) accounted for 22 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. American guard Jasmon Youngblood (195-84, college: Kent St.) came up with 22 points and 4 assists and Canadian center Michael Fraser (203-84, college: Oklah.Baptist, agency: Hart Sports Mngm) added 10 points and 17 rebounds respectively for Byblos in the defeat. Four Byblos players scored in double figures. Sagesse have a solid series of three victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Al Riyadi. Sagesse will play against Champville (#7) in Dik El Mehdi in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Byblos will play against Tadamon (#6) and hope to get back on the winning track.
