There was a small surprise when ninth ranked Tokyo Cinq R. (10-24) edged on the road 7th ranked Yokohama BC (16-18) 74-71 on Sunday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 21-17. But Yokohama BC won second period 21-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Tokyo Cinq R. made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. Guard Yuji Yuji (181-88) fired 26 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American swingman Ricky Woods (194-84, college: SE Louisiana) chipped in 22 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists (made all of his eight free throws). American swingman Omar Reed (200-87, college: Bluefield, agency: Norton Sports Management) produced 21 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists (made all of his eight free throws) and his fellow American import power forward Marquise Gray (206-86, college: Michigan St.) added 15 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Yokohama BC's coach Michael Katsuhisa tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Tokyo Cinq R. maintains ninth position with 10-24 record. Loser Yokohama BC dropped to the sixth place with 18 games lost.
