The game in Aichi was also quite interesting. Second ranked Denso Iris (21-4) played at the court of 7th ranked Toyota B SR (9-16). Denso Iris managed to secure a 8-point victory 59-51 on Sunday. The game without a history. Denso Iris led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Toyota B SR to just 7 points in fourth quarter. The former international power forward Maki Takada (183-89) nailed a double-double by scoring 29 points and 12 rebounds (made all of her nine free throws !!!) for the winning side and guard Yasuko Itou (160-90) accounted for 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Nozomi Matsuzawa (178-89) came up with 12 points and 7 rebounds and power forward Sari Osabe (174-87) added 8 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Toyota B SR in the defeat. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Denso Iris. They maintain second place with 21-4 record having just two points less than leader JX Sunflowers. Toyota B SR lost their third game in a row. They keep the seventh position with 16 games lost. Denso Iris will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Toyota B SR will play against Niigata (#8) in Tokyo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
