The game in Avellino was also worth to mention about. Third ranked Cantu (14-6) played at the court of 7th ranked Air Avellino (10-10). Cantu did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 77-59. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Air Avellino. The game was mostly controlled by Cantu. Air Avellino was better in third quarter 21-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Cantu shot the lights out from three nailing 13 long-distance shots on high 54.2 percentage. The best player for the winners was point guard Stefano Gentile (191-89) who scored 24 points (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Cantu moved-up to second place, which they share with Enel Brindisi. Air Avellino at the other side keeps the seventh position with ten games lost. Cantu's next round opponent will be Vanoli Cremona (#14) at home which should be an easy win for them. Air Avellino will play against Juvecaserta (#9) in Caserta and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
