Very expected game in Mikawa where 10th ranked Shimane Magic (7-27) was defeated by second ranked Hamamatsu Phoenix (24-12) 83-69 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Hamamatsu Phoenix. Shimane Magic was better in fourth quarter 25-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Hamamatsu Phoenix dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Shimane Magic's 32. The game was dominated by American players. Guard Jermaine Dixon (191-87, college: Pittsburgh) fired 20 points and 5 assists for the winners. Forward Dior Lowhorn (201-87, college: USF) chipped in 17 points and 8 rebounds. Hamamatsu Phoenix's coach Tomoya Higashino used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward T.J. Cummings (205-81, college: UCLA) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and forward Adrian Thomas (200-87, college: Miami, FL) added 13 points and 10 rebounds respectively for lost side. Hamamatsu Phoenix have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 24-12 record having three points less than leader Akita NH. Loser Shimane Magic keeps the tenth place with 27 games lost. Hamamatsu Phoenix will have a break next round. Shimane Magic will play at home against the league's leader Okinawa GK (#1) and hope to win that game.
