Very expected game when 12th ranked CB Canarias (8-11) was smashed by fifth ranked Regal FC Barcelona (14-6) in Tenerife 78-56 on Sunday. The game without a history. Regal FC Barcelona led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Regal FC Barcelona forced 21 CB Canarias turnovers and outrebounded them 44-31 including 29 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by the former international guard Juan Carlos Navarro (192-80) who scored that evening 8 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and naturalized American point guard Brad Oleson (191-83, college: Alaska-Fairb., agency: Duran International) supported him with 9 points and 5 assists. Even 10 points and 5 rebounds by the former international swingman Saul Blanco (196-85) did not help to save the game for CB Canarias. Argentinian-Italian point guard Nicolas Richotti (184-86) added 10 points for the hosts. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Regal FC Barcelona moved-up to third place, which they share with G.Canaria 2014 and Unicaja. CB Canarias lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with 11 games lost. Regal FC Barcelona will meet at home Unicaja Malaga (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. CB Canarias will play against the league's leader Real Madrid (#1) and hope to secure a win.
