An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Gdynia. Second ranked Riviera Gdynia faced 3rd placed Widzew. Host Riviera Gdynia (8-15) defeated guests from Lodz (5-18) 74-61. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Widzew. The game was mostly controlled by Riviera Gdynia. Widzew was better in third quarter 17-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Riviera Gdynia forced 19 Widzew turnovers and had a 20-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American center Danielle Wilson (190-88, college: Dowling, agency: Merit Management Group) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds. Her fellow American import point guard Emilie Johnson (168-90, college: UCSB) chipped in 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Riviera Gdynia's coach Wadim Czeczuro used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Power forward Paulina Rozwadowska (191-89, agency: Promotex) produced 15 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and international Aleksandra Pawlak (189-84) added 18 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Riviera Gdynia. They maintain second place in Places 7-10 with 8-15 record having thirteen points less than leader Wisla Krakow. Loser Widzew keeps the third position with 18 games lost. Riviera Gdynia will face league's leader Basket ROW in Rybnik in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Widzew will play at home against MKS Konin and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
