Regular Season Round 23: Eskinstuna - Sallen 47-70

Date: February 23, 2014
Bottom-ranked Eskinstuna (0-18) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 70-47 loss to third ranked Sallen (14-4) in Eskilstuna. It looked good early as Eskinstuna took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Sallen had a 20-9 second period charge getting the lead and Eskinstuna was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 47-70. Sallen forced 20 Eskinstuna turnovers. American point guard Adrianne Ross (173-84, college: TCU, agency: Merit Management Group) orchestrated the victory by scoring 11 points and 4 assists. Norwegian power forward Kristina Tattersdill (183-83) contributed with 8 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Sallen's coach Bo Eriksson felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American point guard Natasha Vital (173-88, college: California) answered with 17 points and 5 rebounds and the other American import swingman Carmen Reynolds (182-90, college: Michigan) added 11 points in the effort for Eskinstuna. Sallen have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain third place with 14-4 record behind leader Norrkoping, which they share with Umea.
