Rather expected game in Tripoli where 7th ranked Champville (2-5) was crushed by fourth ranked Al Moutahed (5-2) 94-71. The game without a history. Al Moutahed led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Champville's 34 and made 20-of-24 charity shots (83.3 percent) during the game. Al Moutahed players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Champville's players. It was a very good performance for American center Hassan Whiteside (213-89, college: Marshall) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points and 15 rebounds. Jamaican-American guard Corey Williams (191-77, college: Alabama St.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 assists for the winners. Four Al Moutahed players scored in double figures. Serbian power forward Vladan Vukosavljevic (206-84, agency: Beo Basket) answered with 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocks and the former international guard Sabah Khoury (196-82) added 17 points and 4 assists in the effort for Champville. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Al Moutahed have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Byblos and Amchit. Champville lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with five games lost. Al Moutahed's next round opponent will be league's leader Al Riyadi in Beirut and it will be for sure the game of the week. Champville will play at home against the league's second-placed Sagesse (#2) and hope to win that game.
