Regular Season Round 18: Lyon - Nice 84-65

There was no surprise when 14th ranked Nice (3-15) was crushed on the road by fifth ranked Lyon (12-6) 84-65 on Sunday. The game without a history. Lyon led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They also forced 20 Nice turnovers and had a 13-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American center Mistie Mims (191-83, college: Duke) who scored 18 points and 8 rebounds. Guard Melanie Plust (173-89) chipped in 19 points. Four Lyon players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Spanish forward Anna Montanana (186-80, college: G.Washington) who recorded 17 points and 5 assists and Czech Katerina Zohnova (179-84) added 14 points respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Lyon maintains fifth position with 12-6 record. Nice lost sixth consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom place with 15 games lost. Lyon will face Angers (#10) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Nice will play against Tarbes (#9) and hope to win that game.
