Everything went according to plan when sixth ranked Sao Jose/Vinac (14-9) beat at home 13th ranked Macae (9-16) 96-88 on Tuesday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 26-18. But Macae won second period 23-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening.
