The game between second ranked Pinheiros (17-7) and fourth ranked Brasilia (17-8) was the most important one in the last round on Tuesday night. Pinheiros was crushed by Brasilia in Sao Paolo 110-82. The game without a history. Brasilia led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. Brasilia forced 22 Pinheiros turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Pinheiros' players. It was a great evening for the former international point guard Welington Dos Santos (185-81) who led his team to a victory scoring 23 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Brasilia have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Defending champion maintains fourth place with 17-8 record. Pinheiros at the other side keeps the second position with seven games lost. They share it with Paulistano. Brasilia are looking forward to face Palmeiras (#12) in Sao Paulo in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Pinheiros will play at home against Universo/Goiania (#16) and is hoping to win this game.
