Fifth-ranked Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion (6-13) made lots of trouble for Ramat Hasharon (12-7) on Wednesday. Ramat Hasharon managed to secure only three-point victory 83-80. However their fans expected easier game. The hosts trailed by 7 points after three quarters before their 22-15 charge, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time and get a 3-point victory in overtime. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was center Shamela Hampton (191-87, college: UNLV) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 17 rebounds. Guard Tierra Ruffin-Pratt (178-91, college: N.Carolina) chipped in 22 points. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Amanda Thompson (183-87, college: Oklahoma) who recorded a double-double by scoring 24 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists and point guard Alexis Gray-Lawson (173-87, college: California) added 22 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Four Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion players scored in double figures. Ramat Hasharon will face Elitzur Ramla on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion will play against Bnot Hertzeliya (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
