Second Stage Round 3: Maccabi Ashdod - Bnot Hertzeliya 79-55

Very expected game when Bnot Hertzeliya (6-13) was rolled over on the road by Maccabi Ashdod (16-3) 79-55 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Maccabi Ashdod. Bnot Hertzeliya was better in fourth quarter 18-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great shooting night for Maccabi Ashdod especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Bnot Hertzeliya's players. The best player for the winners was American power forward Danielle Adams (185-89, college: Texas A&M) who scored 20 points and 8 rebounds. The former international point guard Naomi Kolodny (171-82, agency: Data Plus Group) chipped in 12 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Maccabi Ashdod players scored in double figures. Maccabi Ashdod's coach Eliyahu Rabi felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Jessica Breland (190-88, college: N.Carolina) who recorded a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds and the other American import guard Chelsea Hopkins (173-90, college: San Diego St.) added 19 points respectively. Maccabi Ashdod will face Maccabi Ramat Hen (#4) at home in the next round. Bnot Hertzeliya will play against Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
