There was a minor upset when 7th ranked Snaefell (8-11) was defeated on the road by ninth ranked Stjarnan (8-12) 93-88 on Thursday. The game without a history. Stjarnan led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American forward Junior Hairston (203-84, college: Towson, agency: KMG Sports Management) fired a double-double by scoring 26 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. International point guard Justin Shouse (181-81, college: Mercyhurst) chipped in a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 assists. American point guard Travis Cohn (187-89, college: Jacksonville) produced a double-double by scoring 24 points, 11 rebounds and 9 assists and the former international forward Sigurdur Thorvaldsson (201-80) added 21 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five Stjarnan and four Snaefell players scored in double figures. Stjarnan maintains ninth place with 8-12 record. Snaefell at the other side keeps the seventh position with 11 games lost. Stjarnan will face bottom-ranked Valur (#12) in Reykjavik in the next round.
