Regular Season Round 11: Ourinhos - Rio Claro 75-46

Rather expected game when 7th ranked Rio Claro (2-12) was smashed on the road by fifth ranked Ourinhos (6-8) 75-46. Rio Claro was ahead by 4 points at the halftime before a 49-16 second half run of Ourinhos. They held Rio Claro to an opponent 24.3 percent shooting from the field compared to 50.9 percent accuracy of the winners and made 16-of-16 charity shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. Ourinhos outrebounded Rio Claro 44-25 including a 36-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Rio Claro's players. Ourinhos brought some defensive toughness making 9 blocks. It was a great evening for international guard Taina Paixao (176-91) who led her team to a victory scoring 13 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. International center Fernanda Bibiano (193-85) helped adding 15 points, 8 rebounds and 5 blocks. Four Ourinhos players scored in double figures. Swingman Leila Zabani (181-91) responded with 19 points and guard Thaissa Frediani (166-89) scored 13 points and 4 steals. Rio Claro's coach Marcio Pimenta gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Ourinhos maintains fifth place with 6-8 record. Rio Claro at the other side keeps the seventh position with 12 games lost.
