Very important is a home loss of second ranked Iowa Energy (20-12) against fourth ranked 66ers (17-20) on Friday night. Host Iowa Energy was defeated by 66ers in a tough game in Des Moines 113-117. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Iowa Energy. It looked good early as Iowa Energy took an 9-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then 66ers took control winning two of next three quarters and eventually winning the game that evening by 4 points. They made 26-of-33 charity shots (78.8 percent) during the game. 66ers brought some defensive toughness making 10 blocks. Iowa Energy was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch.
