Regular Season Round 32: Denain - Rouen 64-61

Fifteenth-ranked SPO Rouen (11-21) was very close to win a game against eleventh ranked Denain Voltaire (16-16). Denain Voltaire managed to secure only three-point victory 64-61. However their fans expected much easier game. It looked good early as SPO Rouen took an 3-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Denain Voltaire had a 22-13 second period charge getting the lead and SPO Rouen was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 61-64. The best player for the winners was American forward Brandon Brown (201-85, college: CS San Bernar.) who scored 17 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Pierric Poupet (191-84) chipped in 8 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Brown is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Denain Voltaire's coach Fabrice Courcier allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Naturalized DR Congolese point guard Henry Kahudi (194-91) produced 16 points and Chrislain Cairo (200-91) added 6 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the guests. Denain Voltaire moved-up to tenth place, which they share with St Quentin. SPO Rouen lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the fifteenth position with 21 games lost. Denain Voltaire's next round opponent will be Souffelweyersheim (#12) at home. SPO Rouen will play against Boulazac Basket and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
