An interesting game for Basket ROW (12-12) which hosted in Rybnik second-best Riviera Gdynia (8-16). First ranked Basket ROW managed to get a 7-point victory 71-64. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Riviera Gdynia. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 28-15. But Riviera Gdynia won second period 22-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Basket ROW won last quarter 17-12. The former international point guard Agata Gajda (175-80, agency: Promotex) notched a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 assists to lead the effort and American forward Markel Walker (185-90, college: UCLA, agency: LBM Management) supported her with 16 points and 11 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Basket ROW's coach Kazimierz Mikolajec allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even a double-double of 22 points and 15 rebounds by American center Danielle Wilson (190-88, college: Dowling, agency: Merit Management Group) did not help to save the game for Riviera Gdynia. Guard Natalia Malaszewska (178-84) added 11 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Basket ROW maintains first position in Places 7-10 with 12-12 record. Loser Riviera Gdynia keeps the second place with 16 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
