Sixth-ranked Leiden (15-11) used its home court advantage to challenge second ranked Den Bosch (22-6) on Saturday. The visitors from Den Bosch managed to secure only three-point victory 86-83. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Leiden. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Leiden won fourth quarter 15-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where Leiden used huge pressure winning it 15-14 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually overtime period 11-14. It was a good game for American forward Tai Wesley (200-86, college: Utah St.) who led his team to a victory with 21 points and 9 rebounds. The other American import guard David Gonzalvez (193-87, college: Richmond) contributed with 13 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Den Bosch's coach Samuel Jones used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American guard Robert Holcomb Faye (185-84, college: Radford) replied with 24 points and the former international point guard Sean Cunningham (188-86, college: Cal-Riverside, agency: R.H.Consultancy) added 14 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Leiden. Five Leiden players scored in double figures. Den Bosch maintains second position with 22-6 record behind leader Groningen. Defending champion Leiden dropped to the fifth place with 11 games lost. Den Bosch will face league's leader Groningen in Groningen in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Leiden will play on the road against Zwolle (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
