Not a big story in a game when 10th ranked Suchy Las (6-15) were defeated at home by fourth ranked Kalisz (15-6) 83-70 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Kalisz. Suchy Las was better in second period 23-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Kalisz had a 27-14 advantage in offensive rebounds. Forward Kamil Sieranski (195-84) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners and power forward Tomasz Zyber (207-89) chipped in 16 points and 5 rebounds. Four Kalisz players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was center Michal Marek (208-96) with 10 points and 7 rebounds and Jakub Fiszer (187-95) scored 10 points and 6 rebounds. Suchy Las' coach Przemyslaw Szurek rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Kalisz. Newly promoted Kalisz maintains fourth place in Group A with 15-6 record. Suchy Las lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the tenth position with 15 games lost. Kalisz will face league's second-placed Notec in Inowroclaw in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Suchy Las will play on the road against Basket Pila (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
