Very expected game in Thessaloniki where 10th ranked Aiolos Trikallon (7-13) was defeated by fourth ranked PAOK (13-7) 82-77 on Saturday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 23-12. But Aiolos Trikallon won third quarter 19-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. PAOK made 36-of-40 free shots (90.0 percent) during the game, while Aiolos Trikallon only scored seventeen points from the stripe. They outrebounded Aiolos Trikallon 34-23 including 22 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of center Giorgos Bogris (210-89) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds and point guard Kostas Haralampidis (189-76) who added 19 points (was perfect 12-for-12 from the free throw line !!!) during the contest. American forward Chris Evans (203-91, college: Kent St.) responded with 16 points and 5 steals and American-Jamaican power forward Patrick Ewing Jr. (203-84, college: Georgetown) scored 10 points and 5 rebounds. Four Aiolos Trikallon players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. PAOK maintains fourth position with 13-7 record. Newly promoted Aiolos Trikallon keeps the tenth place with 13 games lost. PAOK will face KAOD (#6) in Dramas in the next round. Aiolos Trikallon will play at home against AGOR (#7) and hope to win that game.
