Regular Season Round 24: Charleville - Quimper 96-74
Date: March 1, 2014
Very predictable result when third ranked Charleville-Mezieres (18-6) smashed at home 9th ranked Quimper UJAP (12-11) 96-74 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Charleville-Mezieres. Quimper UJAP was better in third quarter 29-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Charleville-Mezieres looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Slovakian power forward Justin Sedlak (205-87, college: Florida Tech, agency: Dynamics Global Management) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 5 rebounds and American forward Monyea Pratt (195-85, college: Stillman, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) who added 12 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Charleville-Mezieres' coach Cedric Heitz felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was point guard Etienne Plateau (192-86) with 25 points and 6 rebounds and naturalized Mali forward Tahirou Sani (203-85) scored 9 points and 8 rebounds. Charleville-Mezieres have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 18-6 record having just two points less than leader Monaco. Loser Quimper UJAP keeps the ninth place with 11 games lost. Charleville-Mezieres will face La Rochelle (#5) on the road in the next round. Quimper UJAP will play against the league's second-placed Angers BC (#2) and hope to win that game.
