Regular Season Round 24: Montbrison - Sorgues 85-94

Everything went according to plan when fourth ranked Sorgues BC (16-8) beat on the road 17th ranked Montbrison (5-19) 94-85 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 94-85. Sorgues BC forced 22 Montbrison turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 33 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Aaron Broussard (195-90, college: Seattle) who helped to win the game recording 28 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists and American-British power forward Tafari Toney (203-86) who added 20 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Four Sorgues BC players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American Keonta Howell (193-85, college: Toledo) with 31 points and 4 assists and British guard Duke-Jermaine Forbes (186-80, college: W.Georgia) scored 22 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!). Sorgues BC have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 16-8 record. Montbrison lost tenth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the seventeenth place with 19 games lost. Sorgues BC will face UB Chartres (#10) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Montbrison will play against Saint Chamond (#7) and hope to win that game.
