Regular Season Round 36: Prievidza - Handlova 75-49
Date: March 1, 2014
Very expected game when 6th ranked Handlova (14-18) was smashed on the road by second ranked Prievidza (23-9) 75-49. The game without a history. Prievidza led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Handlova to just 6 points in fourth quarter. Worth to mention a great performance of Croatian power forward Drazen Klaric (204-80) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 8 rebounds and American power forward Evan Harris (206-86, college: Harvard, agency: I.D.S. Law) who added 11 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Four Prievidza players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Serbian guard Vladimir Velickovic (178-89) with 7 points and 6 rebounds and the former international forward Jozef Vojtek (204-85) scored 12 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Prievidza maintains second position with 23-9 record having just three points less than leader Inter Bratislava. Handlova at the other side keeps the sixth place with 18 games lost. They share the position with B.Bystrica.
