A very interesting game took place in Vigo. It ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 6th ranked Cortegada (7-9) to fifth ranked Real Celta Vigo (9-7) 54-51 on Saturday evening. It looked good early as Cortegada took an 9-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Real Celta Vigo took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 3 points. It was a very good performance for forward Maria Perez Araujo (184-97) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 5 rebounds. Swingman Marta Canella (178-95) contributed with 4 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Swingman Laura Aliaga (182-94) replied with 8 points and 14 rebounds and power forward Andrea Rios (187-91) added 11 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Cortegada. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Real Celta Vigo moved-up to fourth place in Group A, which they share with ADBA. Cortegada lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with nine games lost. Real Celta Vigo's next round opponent will be Aros Leon (#10) on the road where they are favorite. Cortegada will play against the league's leader Maquinaria Ensino (#1) and hope to win that game.
