An interesting game was played in Hesperange where Racing (#1) beat host Telstar (#4) 59-51 on Saturday evening. The guests trailed by 2 points after three quarters before their 18-8 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Racing made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for American Earlysia Marchbanks (180, college: Oregon St.) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 14 rebounds. Guard Michelle Klepper (173-94) helped adding 20 points. The best for the losing side was American swingman Tara Booker (185-89, college: G.Washington) with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Lena Walter (171-96) scored 13 points and 7 rebounds. Racing will meet at home Sparta in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Telstar will play against Residence in Bereldange and hopes to get finally their first victory.
